Civic activities that promote Political participation – PT 2

Educating citizens and the general public about democratic principles such as the right to vote and to be voted for is key.

Also creating an environment in which more people are contributing to development by registering to vote, in order to prepare the ground for greater citizen’s voice in decision making, and increased pursuit of equity and equality.


Social media and other communication mediums such as newspapers, radios, magazines, town hall meetings, mass gatherings, and the internet have been a prominent way of reaching out to people who are not fully informed about the need of participating in politics and also for people who have a high level of political apathy.

It makes it easier for the literate and the illiterates who don’t know how to read or write to able to understand the benefits of engaging in the political affairs of the country.
